Projected Drawing: Video Installation

"Kloe Kang’s paintings of semi-abstract architectural fragments or rice bowls, and her short films
that capture the actual process of an emergent drawing—convey an intention
to capture and make visible a world in flux, a state of perpetual and dynamic movement.
At the same time, there are also aspects of Kang’s work that suggest an ongoing inquiry
into various kinds of more stable visual organization and structure."

Drawing Project: Invisible Cities

'Drawing Project: Invisible Cities' was created in a stop-motion format that repeatedly records the process of drawing, erasing, and transforming faces on a single piece of paper. The faces of women who are represented in the work lived and worked passionately to achieve the independence of their country and peace for humanity during the turbulent period of the early 20th century.

"Kloe Kang’s paintings of semi-abstract architectural fragments or rice bowls, and short films that capture the actual process of an emergent drawing—both kinds of work convey an intention to capture and make visible a world in flux, a state of perpetual and dynamic movement. At the same time, there are also aspects of Kang’s work that suggest an ongoing inquiry into various kinds of more stable visual organization and structure."
